They arrived at the building, Adam turned off the engine, loosened his seat belt and Kim did the same. Upon exiting the vehicle, he turned around to walk with her to the entrance.

“I want to go out, you and me.” Maybe he shouldn’t have said that, it was understood he meant a date, but Adam wanted to be sure to be alone with her.

“We could have lunch together tomorrow. For the old times’ sake,” Adam added.

“Of course, I’d love to. Also the Vortex will be closed,” she replied.

“That’s great!” his face lit up for a few moments after a long time. “I would like to take you to a wonderful place I know. You will love it! And then we’ll have lunch.”

“All right.”

“So, Kim Kwon, it’s a date! I’ll pick you up at one p.m. I’m going to leave now, you must be exhausted.”

“Yes, I’m starting to feel the effects of standing for more than six hours.”

She approached him and did something she hadn’t done in years. She kissed Adam tenderly on the cheek.

“Good night,” she said and turned around, rushing into the building without looking back.

“Good night, Kim.”
